Resident Storyteller, Prue Thimbleby ran a very successful Storyteller Training Course at Cwmbwrla Day Centre, Swansea, for people living in the community who have mental health support needs, as well as staff.
The group learnt different ways of telling stories, such as a gossip, the use of sound effects or the more traditional telling. Prue introduced tactile methods in storytelling such as 'The Little Clay Boy' shown here and the use of physical space as ice breakers, remembering games from childhood. The group recorded their stories for our storytelling library as well giving thier own Top Tips to New Storytellers at the end of the course. |
Prue Thimbleby is the Arts in Health Coordinator at ABMU and the Coordinator of the Storytelling & Health International Conference as well as the Co-ordinator of Stories for Change.
